The AGIR Document Module natively ensures that document readers have access to the latest published version of a document. However, there are exceptions where it may be useful and necessary for readers to view removed documents, whether for historical reference, audits, or other purposes.
What does "Removed" mean?
A removed document is one that has been discontinued—withdrawn from circulation. Note that in your organization, this status may have a different designation, but its functional meaning remains the same.
By default, this property is enabled, and AGIR, in its native configuration, allows document readers to search for and access removed documents. However, it is now possible to restrict this access.
IMPORTANT If your organization requires this functionality and it is not yet available, please submit a ticket to our Helpdesk so we can update your AGIR to the latest version.
How to edit this setting?
1. Go to AGIR settings.
2. In the Documents tab, access Advanced settings.
3. Enable/disable the option Allow non-administrator users to open removed documents and click Save.
If this option is enabled, document readers will be able to filter and access documents in the Removed status.
If the option is disabled, only AGIR Administrators or Workflow Administrators will be able to filter and access removed documents.
Considerations before enabling this option
Differentiation between Active and Removed documents
It is essential for users to understand the difference between active and removed documents to prevent the use of outdated information. By default, AGIR hides removed documents from the main list, requiring users to apply specific filters to view them.

Internal Policy
Enabling this feature should align with the company’s guidelines on document access and management, ensuring that viewing removed documents complies with established security and confidentiality standards.
Conclusion
The option to Allow non-administrator users to open removed documents in AGIR can be beneficial for organizations that require greater transparency and accessibility in document management. However, it is essential to carefully consider the impact of this decision and implement best practices to mitigate potential risks.
