How to force or correct the PDF version of a document?

Modified on Mon, 21 Oct at 3:45 PM

If you need to correct the PDF version generated by AGIR, you can access the document properties and manually replace the PDF version used for viewing.

This operation does not alter your original document or its properties. It only replaces the PDF version used in the preview.

This might be necessary due to a temporary conversion error or because you want to limit a specific area of the document for printing (Example: an Excel file with multiple sheets, where you only want the second sheet to be used for the preview).

TIP  If you're working with Office documents (e.g., Microsoft Office Word), we recommend using our AGIR Office Add-In, which ensures a high reliability in PDF conversion.
If you notice any errors in the conversion, especially in layouts, tables, and images, it is likely that the document was created/edited by a user without the AGIR Office Add-In. In that case, we recommend its installation as described in this article: New AGIR Office Web - How to install?

How to replace the PDF version?

Solution A - Try forcing a new conversion

1. Open the document’s main page and click on Properties.

2. Then click on Force new conversion and wait a few seconds. AGIR will attempt to reconvert the document using the available conversion tools.

Usually, this procedure is effective and resolves the initial conversion issue. If it does not result in a better conversion, apply Solution B.

Solution B - Force a manual conversion, external to AGIR

1. Open the document’s main page and click on Properties.

2. Then click on Manual conversion to insert a PDF generated externally to AGIR. Select a PDF file of your choice, previously generated by your PDF conversion tool (external to AGIR), and click on Open.

After these actions, the new PDF version will replace the previous one.

PERMISSIONS  To perform this operation, you need to have editor/approver permissions for the document.
